Providing CE for Fellowship

Good morning! I was approached by the Dean and a faculty member about providing CE for a proposed Fellowship that the school would want to provide. Estimation is that it will be around 190-200 hours and will include in person, self study, and some virtual didactic coursework. Does anyone have any experience with a program like this? Could you provide some guidance in terms of what you did to monitor and document the credits? Is it treated like any other CE program where you need to have records of your learning goals and objectives? Does their need to be an assessment at the end of every module to issue CE or is one at the very end of the coursework sufficient? Thank you for your help

Providing CE Credit for Presentation Prep Time

I have a speaker that presented a lecture for our Grand Rounds this month. In addition to the CE credit for the 1-hour lecture, she is requesting we give her credit hours for her presentation prep time. Has anyone provided credit for prep time? I sent this question to Kellie at ADA CERP, but she has not responded. Thanks for your advice.

We do not give CE credit for prep time. Like Don, we have a category for teaching with the amount of CE credit they can claim in the biennium at 4 hours.

AGD PACE APPROVAL

Good Morning. I have a faculty member who is adamant about having CE get a PACE approval in addition to our CERP approval. The belief from the faculty member is that we would attract more doctors to our course if we advertise ourself as being a PACE provider. i am curious as to how many of our members have PACE approval in addition to their CERP approval or are PACE approved only. Thanks in advance.

Hi Fran, Remember that is just one person's opinion and doesn't constitute a major change in your structure. We use to have both because PACE was the easiest new dental school to obtain. when the term was to expire for PACE, and at that time we had both because I was hired to obtain CERP, I explained the additional time it took for two reaccreditation applications and that I could still report hours for our participants. So where's the advantage? And by the way, I am also an office of one. I do have someone that does that for me. Thank you for providing the information regarding what we can post on our websites. I might need to call you for additional clarification. I put this on the attendance verification:

AGD Members: Although Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine no longer maintains AGD PACE recognition, however, we will submit the hours to AGD, which will go toward your Fellowship or MasterTrack program. Please allow at least 30 days for MWU to process these hours. AGD PACE may need additional time to process as well.

I am new to AGD PACE and hopefully ADA CERP. For those who have both approvals, what does your verification of attendance form look like?
