GDPR and Learning Stream

This is from Leslie: The response I received is that we don’t have a way to block registrants from out of the country.  One suggestion is that you could include a registration form question that asks them to check a box that certifies that they are not registering from the EU.

When I asked about Learning Stream’s GDPR compliance and the developer’s understanding of what is necessary, I received the following:

“We have reviewed the requirements and it is our understanding that we are compliant.  Some of the requirements may require that you add language to your event pages or calendars explaining why you are collecting the registrants’ information, how it will be used and how long you intend to keep it.  You will also need to provide contact information that will allow the registrant to contact you if they would like their information removed.”

Learning Stream User Meeting Interest

Hi, would those of you who are using Learning Streaming like to set up a zoom discussion to see if there are any needs or issues, that are common? If there are, then we can approach LS as group to solve the issues and may not have to pay a fee. Please let me know via email gibbs@sdm.rutgers.edu. Thanks! Janice

Online Events with Learning Stream

Hi everyone! Long before the COVID-19 outbreak, we were looking at putting a required course online. We are still waiting for the final materials (partnering with the State of Wisconsin) but I am trying to prepare. We use Learning Stream but have never used these modules. We will have a video and then questions they need to answer. So, here are my questions to those of you who use Learning Stream and do online courses:

- how many modules do I need to purchase to allow people to view the course and take a test?

- once you enter the course and tests into the module, is there anything else you need to do?

- does anyone have a course online in Learning Stream they would allow me to view?

Thanks very much.

Thinking of you all in these strange new times. Stay safe and be well.

Carol, I am not sure how many modules you would need to purchase. I believe it is both a video module as well as the testing module...but could be wrong. I have discovered that LS handles pricing slightly different for different people.

There is a lot of "linking" that needs to happen when setting up a course with videos, but once you do, it will work rather autonomously (ie passive income).

You can try one of ours!
