Faculty Pay for CDE Presentations
Hey Team! I just found out that our University is no longer going to pay our faculty for teaching CE courses. In the past, if a faculty member taught for us it was outside their normal working schedule and we made sure they weren't "double dipping". It gave our faculty an incentive to teach for us knowing they could make some extra money on the side.
Well now things have changed and the University has put a stop to this, which we know as a result, no one will want to teach CE classes for us for free 😣 I mean I could give them hugs but I'm pretty sure they won't like that LOL!
I know at our Medical School the faculty have it written in their contracts that they will provide a set number of CE hours per year, so they can get away with that. Our Dental School faculty have no such contract and it doesn't look like that will ever change.
My question for you all is how does it work at your school? How do you pay or not pay, compensate, or other, your faculty if they teach for your department?
Thank you guys for any feedback, I will take any ideas I can get 😀
Thanks,
Alex

Thank you Don, that is a great suggestion, I will pass that along to our Dean!
